Gogama Timmins Smallmouth Bass Fishing

Green Wilderness Lodge & Outpost Camps is located in Northern Ontario between Gogama and Timmins. They have great fishing for Smallmouth Bass. In there lake, Smallmouth Bass are one of the dominant species and you can come across hunting packs of smaller Smallmouth Bass in the 1/2 to 2 pound range and catch bass after bass for hours. The really big Smallmouth Bass travel in pairs and you have to hunt the shoreline if you want to get into some of the monster Smallmouth in the 5 to 7-pound mark that are found in their lake. They have nice lakeside cottages and outpost camps and offer both housekeeping plan and American Plan at their basecamp.

Auld Reekie Lodge is located 2 hours north of North Bay near the town of Gowganda and located on Gowganda Lake. Their lake is just stuffed with trophy Smallmouth Bass. If you target Smallmouth Bass on their lake you will catch 50 to 80 fish in a day and maybe more. Most will be in the 1 to 3 pound range with 4 to 5 pounders thrown in there every day. Their true claim to fame for Gowganda Lake is the monster trophy Smallmouth Bass. They have many guests catching 6 and 7 pounders and a couple times per summer a guest get them over 8 pounds. In 2010 a guest caught a Smallmouth Bass over 10 pounds and let it go not knowing it was a world record. They have beautiful lakefront cottages along with a main restaurant and British Pub style bar. They offer American Plan, European Plan and housekeeping plan. They also have a number of boat caches on remote backcountry lakes that are stuffed with bass and a lot of fun to explore. This is a perfect option for when the main lake gets too rough on a windy day.
