Chapleau Smallmouth Bass Fishing Lodges

Four Seasons Guiding is a small and cozy family run outfitter on Big Pine Lake near Chapleau Ontario. They offer housekeeping cabins. Smallmouth Bass fishing in Big Pine Lake is not great but just a short drive from camp are little lakes that are stuffed with Smallmouth Bass where you can catch more bass in a day than an entire week at some other camps. Bass in the area are common in the 1 to 3-pound range.

Five Mile Lake Lodge & Outpost Camps is located on Five Mile Lake, which is south of Chapleau, Ontario. They offer good fishing for Smallmouth Bass in their main lake. If you are looking for a place that is just stuffed with Smallmouth Bass where you are catching one after another, then consider going to their outpost camp on Goldie Lake. Smallmouth Bass is the dominant species on this lake. You can catch bass after bass all day long in a total wilderness setting.

Prairie Bee Outpost Camps is located on Prairie Bee Lake, which is located between Chapleau and Wawa, Ontario. They have great Smallmouth Bass fishing. Guests can expect to catch tons of little bass and 10 to 20 Smallmouth Bass per day between 4 and 6 pounds. The Smallmouth Bass are most common in the 1 to 3 pound range. There are Smallmouth Bass in the 7-pound range but they are very rare. That would be a 23-inch Smallmouth Bass, which would be a fish of a lifetime for most bass hunters. At the far west end of the lake they have an extremely remote outpost camp. The main camp is located at the north-east end of the lake. Both camps are extremely remote boat-to camps. From the main camp you have access to Windermere Lake, which is one is also one of the best Smallmouth Bass lakes in Ontario.

Moose Horn Lodge does not have Smallmouth Bass in their main lake. They do have lakes in the area that are just stuffed with Smallmouth Bass. Guests have reported catching over 100 Smallmouth Bass in an afternoon on these lakes. The Smallmouth Bass are common in the 1 to 3-pound range but guests catch them commonly in the 4 to 5-pound range and every once in a while a 6-pounder gets caught. They also have fishing for Walleye, Northern Pike, Whitefish & Brook Trout. They have outstanding housekeeping cottage right on the lake.

Murray Lake Cottages & Outpost Camps is located south of Missanabie and between Wawa and Chapleau, Ontario. They and located on Murray Lake, which has outstanding Smallmouth Bass fishing with both high numbers and big trophies. Their guests can also get boat access to McMurty Lake and Dog Lake. If you like catching and eating Smallmouth Bass than it will take you a few minutes to catch lunch. The shoreline has hoards of Smallmouth Bass in the 1 to 3-pound range with quite a few bigger bass in the 4 and 5-pound range. If you specifically target Smallmouth Bass you should catch a 6-pounder and some of their guests have even caught Smallmouth over 7 pounds but a bass that size is rare. They also have boat caches on several remote backcountry portage lakes with great bass fishing. They have five lakefront housekeeping cabins that sleep between four and nine adults. They have two boat-to outpost camps on Loon Lake and Shikwamkwa Lake and both camps have fantastic. Their rates are the best in Ontario. They also have fishing for Walleye, Northern Pike, Lake Trout, Brook Trout and Perch.

Happy Day Lodge is located on Windermere Lake, which is the best Smallmouth Bass fishing lake in the Chapleau area. There are lots of Smallmouth Bass ranging from small 2 pounds up to 6 pounds to even larger trophies off all the many rock points. The lake is just swarming Smallmouth bass. Happy Day Lodge is the only lodge on the lake. They have really nice lakeside cabins and boats.
